Usage and billing

Use Usage & Billing to review your organization's shared credits, manage your plan, open billing settings, and inspect recent credit activity.

Work requested through ChatGPT or another connected AI assistant uses the same shared organization credits as work started in the Skillsail web app.

The page is available after you sign in to Skillsail.

Open the usage page

1. Sign in to Skillsail.

What you can review

• Your current plan and whether it renews, ends, or has a scheduled change.
• Monthly included credits remaining for the organization.
• Recent starter grants and usage debits for the organization.
• Billing settings such as payment methods, invoices, and subscription details.
• Paid plan options, including each plan's monthly price, included credits, and overage rate.
• Your estimated overage, whether usage beyond the included allowance is allowed, and any optional cap set by an organization administrator.

Manage your plan

From Usage & Billing, free organizations can choose Plus or Pro. Paid organizations can switch between Plus and Pro from the plan cards.

An upgrade from Plus to Pro takes effect immediately. Stripe starts a fresh Pro billing cycle, applies its proration rules, and provides the new Pro allowance for that cycle. A downgrade from Pro to Plus is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, so the current Pro plan remains active until renewal.

If your current plan is scheduled to end or change, the page shows that status and lets you keep the current plan where available. For larger teams or custom needs, use Contact sales from the billing page.

Billing settings open from Manage billing, where you can review payment methods, invoices, and subscription details. Skillsail uses Stripe Managed Payments for paid self-serve subscriptions. Stripe's Managed Payments merchant of record charges and collects the subscription and usage amounts shown on the finalized invoice.

Plans, subscriptions, payment methods, and invoices are always managed on the Skillsail website. A connected assistant cannot purchase a plan or change your subscription for you.

Credit allowances

• Eligible new free organizations receive a one-time 1,500-credit starter allowance. It does not refresh. Existing starter grants are not reduced retroactively.
• Plus costs USD $20 per month and includes 1,500 credits. Additional usage costs USD $22 per 1,000 credits ($0.022 per credit).
• Pro costs USD $100 per month and includes 7,500 credits. Additional usage costs USD $18 per 1,000 credits ($0.018 per credit).

Credits are shared by everyone in the organization. Credit-consuming actions include AI text generation, web search, image generation and editing, video generation, voiceover generation, and translation.

On a paid plan, credit-consuming actions can continue after the monthly included credits are used. Overage is measured in individual credits and billed after the monthly billing period ends. The free tier has a one-time starter allowance that does not refresh and cannot incur paid overage: credit-consuming actions stop when all available local allowances are exhausted. Any unused starter allowance expires when the organization's first paid subscription becomes active. An incomplete or unsuccessful checkout does not expire it.

Organization administrators can turn off usage beyond the included allowance or set an optional monetary overage cap. Overage is allowed without a cap by default. Turning overage off preserves the saved cap for a later re-enable. Once overage is off or a configured cap is reached, Skillsail stops new overage-producing actions after included credits are exhausted; usage already incurred or in progress remains billable.

Any historical top-up balance is a separate application allowance. It is preserved but not consumed during a paid Stripe Managed Payments subscription, and it does not reduce the usage reported to Stripe or offset metered overage. The preserved balance becomes available again after the paid subscription ends. Other free-tier included allowances retire with the starter allowance. Paid customer concessions are issued through Stripe.

The usage page shows a running estimate. Meter processing, usage corrections, taxes, discounts, credits, and invoice finalization can change the final amount. The finalized Stripe invoice is the billing record for the period.
