Frequently asked questions

What is a SCORM player?
A SCORM player is software that launches a SCORM package and provides the runtime API the course uses to report progress, answers, and scores, the same role an LMS plays. This free player runs that runtime in your browser so you can preview a course and inspect its tracking data without an LMS.
How do I test a SCORM package without an LMS?
Drop the ZIP above. The player launches the course in a sandboxed frame, answers its SCORM API calls, and shows you completion status, score, and every API call live, exactly what an LMS would record.
Is my course content uploaded to your servers?
No. The package is unzipped and played entirely in your browser; files are served to the course from local browser storage and are cleared when you load another package. We only collect anonymous usage statistics, never your files or their contents.
Which standards does the player support?
Playback supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (3rd and 4th Edition). xAPI and cmi5 packages are detected and can be checked with the validator; in-browser playback for them is on the roadmap.
How do I create a SCORM package?
You need an authoring tool that exports LMS-ready packages. Skillsail turns documents, slides, and PDFs into interactive courses with quizzes and translations, and exports them as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, or cmi5, ready to upload to any LMS.
