Skillsail attribution on Free courses

Shared courses and new exports on Free now display a small “Made with Skillsail” badge. Pro removes Skillsail branding. Downloaded packages keep the branding applied when exported; after upgrading, export again to get a package without the badge.

Explore what you can create

Explore Skillsail, above the message box in web chat, offers six starting points: create a course, add practice, add a quiz, translate a course, add narration, and create visuals. Selecting one adds an editable example prompt after your draft and keeps your attachments. Adjust the request, then send it when ready. Course-specific suggestions stay in More ideas, which now shows only suggestions for your course. See Modules and components.

See your next invoice before it is charged

On paid plans, Settings → Billing now shows the next invoice Stripe will charge and on which date: the plan fee for the next billing period, usage beyond your included credits in the current period, and tax. The amount updates as your organization uses credits, and a subscription that is set to end shows its final invoice instead. Settings → Usage now shows the credits used beyond your included credits in the same bar as your included credits, with an estimate before tax. Billing also shows the payment method and billing email, and lists past invoices with links to Stripe's invoice pages. See Usage and billing.

AI replies can use your last credits

When your remaining credits or spending cap no longer cover the full estimate for the assistant's next step, that step now runs on what is left instead of stopping early. It is charged its actual usage, never more than the remaining amount. Unused credits stay available, and once nothing is left, work stops with the usual out-of-credits message. Image, video, voiceover, and translation actions still need their full reservation. See Usage and billing.

Suggested next steps for your courses

When you open a course that already has content, Skillsail now suggests up to two improvements next to the message box, each tied to a section of your course: add an interactive activity or a quiz, simplify a dense section, add an image or diagram, or add voiceover or a short video. Missing practice and assessment come first. Select a suggestion to send it as a request; nothing changes until you do. More ideas lists every suggestion plus general improvements, and you can dismiss suggestions you don't want. Generating suggestions does not use credits. See Modules and components.

Full-page Settings with Integrations

Settings now opens as a full page with its own sidebar instead of a dialog. The new Integrations section brings AI assistants and messaging apps together. Each integration has its own page with setup steps and example prompts to try, covering ChatGPT and Codex, Claude and Claude Code, Cursor, any other MCP-compatible client, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Telegram. Cited research for current facts

Eve can now research current laws, standards, statistics and other time-sensitive facts in a separate, read-only researcher before it writes or revises a course. The researcher works in a fresh session with only public web search and page reading, reads every page it cites, and returns findings with the URL, access date, scope and confidence, plus a list of what it could not verify. Eve keeps those citations and gaps in its reply and in the brief it hands to the authoring specialist. Research never changes a course on its own and is not legal, medical, safety or compliance approval. See Resources and media.

Translatable diagrams that follow the narration

Skillsail can now create native diagram slides for a procedure with decision points, a repeating cycle, or a hierarchy. Diagrams are drawn from structured steps and connections, so every label is translated with the rest of the course instead of being baked into an image, and learners get a generated text version. When a slide has voiceover, each step appears as the narration reaches it, in every language. Pausing, seeking, or a reduced-motion setting shows the full diagram. If you later change a diagram's labels, connections, or reading order, learners see the full diagram until you regenerate the narration. Diagrams work in the preview and in HTML5, SCORM, xAPI, and cmi5 exports. See Modules and components.

Player controls in every course language

The player's own text, including buttons, status messages, default feedback, and the names screen readers announce for icon buttons, now appears in the learner's language for every language a course can use. Previously, courses in languages such as Hindi, Thai, or Vietnamese showed English controls, and screen readers read the icon buttons' names in English in every language. Courses exported before this update need a new export to receive the change. See Languages and translation.

Clear exit for unfinished quizzes

When a learner tries to leave a score-based training while graded questions are still unanswered, the player now explains how many questions remain and which passing score is required. They can continue with the first open question or save and exit. Saving keeps the attempt resumable in the LMS, and when the LMS frame cannot close itself the player shows a clear closed state instead of appearing to do nothing. Courses exported before this update need a new export to receive the change. See Themes and completion.

Billing access follows the Manage billing permission

Billing and Usage in Settings now require the Manage billing permission. Admins have it by default, and it can be assigned to other roles. Members without it no longer see these pages, and when work stops for credits they are asked to contact someone who manages billing. The spending cap is simpler too: one switch for extra usage and an optional dollar cap, which is kept when you turn extra usage off. See Usage and billing.

Five more interface languages

Skillsail now supports Italian, French, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese, alongside English, German, and Spanish. Switch the app language in Settings → General → Language, or use the website’s language picker for marketing pages and docs. See Languages and translation.

Rename yourself and your organization

Everyone can now change their first and last name in Settings → General, and organization admins can rename the organization in Settings → Organization. New names appear right away. See Organization members.

Clearer plans and early credit warnings

When a request runs out of credits, Skillsail now shows Plus and Pro side by side with their prices, included credits, and roughly how many images and voiceover minutes those credits cover. People who manage billing can start checkout straight from there. They also get a notice above the message box when 20% or less of their credits are left, with a shortcut to pick a plan, turn on pay-as-you-go, or raise the spending cap. In Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Telegram, a request stopped by credits or a payment problem now gets a plain explanation and a link to the settings instead of an error. See Usage and billing.

Collaborate across your organization

Editors can now work on every course in their organization. New Eve threads in verified internal Slack and Teams channels or group chats are shared with all active editors in that organization—including editors outside the conversation—along with the saved Eve transcript. Linked editors can contribute by mentioning Skillsail in the same thread. Personal chats, private or external conversations, groups with guests, and existing private threads keep their private audience. See the Slack and Microsoft Teams guides.

Clearer credits and complete usage history

Usage can now load older ledger entries instead of stopping at the newest page. The credit summary also shows remaining included credits, reset dates, one-time grants, top-ups, and overage when they apply. See Usage and billing.

Manage organization members directly

Organization admins can now invite members, change roles, remove access, and resend or revoke pending invitations directly in Settings. Member activity and invitation status stay visible on the same page. See Organization members.

Simpler training reviews

The comments panel now separates slide scope from comment status, uses slide numbers for context, and keeps the comment box within reach. New reviewers can add their name with their first comment in one step. See Sharing and templates.

Settings with focused pages

Settings now open in a dialog over your current work, with separate pages for general preferences, conversation channels, AI assistants, organization, members, billing, and usage. Compact controls and recognizable integration logos make each page easier to scan, and the dialog adapts to smaller screens.

Continue older conversations in place

Older or technically closed chats that can be reopened now continue in the same conversation, keeping saved messages, the course, and uploaded resources together. Chats you intentionally archived remain closed, while active work and approval requests are preserved.

Smoother reviews for signed-in guests

External reviewers who sign in can now comment using their profile name and manage their comments across browsers. Reviewers without a profile name can add their first and last name directly in the review panel. Signed-in and anonymous external reviewers both keep the Guest tag. See Sharing and templates.

Slide editing improvements

In web chat, the assistant can use the slide shown in your preview as context for requests like “shorten this slide.” Two-column slides now align their column headings and text beneath the overall title. See Modules and components.

Faster image and video generation

Slide images now use GPT Image 2.5 Flare at high quality, and generated videos use H3 Max at 1080p. Videos default to eight seconds and can be requested from five to fifteen seconds. Generated media continues to work in module previews and SCORM exports. See Resources and media.

Skillsail is now available as a ChatGPT plugin

You can now add Skillsail directly from its public ChatGPT plugin listing and work with your training modules from ChatGPT without turning on developer mode or pasting an MCP address. Sign in with your existing Skillsail account, or create one during setup, choose your organization, and ask ChatGPT to create, edit, translate, publish, or export your modules.

Managed ChatGPT workspaces may require an administrator to approve the plugin. The connection guide also keeps the manual custom connector setup available as a fallback.

Upload Markdown as source material

You can now attach Markdown (.md) files as source material when you start a module or continue in chat. Skillsail reads the text so you can ask the assistant to turn notes, briefs, or existing outlines into a learning module.

Sharing a module now turns review comments on by default. Reviewers can still leave comments on the share link without creating an account. Authors who want a delivery-only link can turn comments off with the Collect review comments switch in share settings. Existing public shares that already have comments off stay off. Live component gallery and complete authoring reference

The interactive content guide now includes a live gallery that lets authors try representative learner components directly in the documentation. The same page provides a component-by-component reference for all 22 purpose-built interactive activities, six native slide designs, and eight graded question formats, including clear guidance on scoring, LMS reporting, exports, and how to ask the Skillsail assistant for each kind of experience.

Native presentation slide designs

Static statements, semantic notes, quotations, section-opening heroes, two-column comparisons, and text-over-image compositions are now native slide designs rather than interactive activities. They use the normal slide translation, managed-media, voiceover, preview, and export lifecycle. Existing modules that used the earlier JSON Render presentation blocks remain playable, while assistants now author new presentation-only content through the slide tools.

The design contract contains only bounded structural choices. Labels, attributions, sources, and both columns remain ordinary localized slide text, and image overlays use a single managed slide image that is included in HTML5, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, and cmi5 packages. More visual interactions, accessible media, and scored question types

Skillsail modules can now use labeled graphics, guided screenshot simulations, accessible bar and pie charts, multiple-choice practice, navigation button stacks, sandboxed web embeds, and learner download cards. Advanced managed image and quotation carousels are available when visiting a deliberate sequence in one interaction is essential. Uploaded images for visual activities are managed by Skillsail, shared across language versions, and packaged into module exports.

The activity catalog now also includes spatial drag-and-drop practice over a managed image, before-and-after image comparisons, and scenarios that support either a simple card or managed backgrounds and character portraits. Static statements, notes, quotations, section openers, two-column copy, and image overlays use native slide designs rather than pretending that presentation content is an interaction.

Graded questions now also support multiple-response, fill-in-the-blank, matching, image-choice, multi-region hotspot, and rich multi-blank cloze formats. Image-choice and hotspot questions use managed images in preview and packaged exports, while hotspot regions remain operable through both the image overlay and an equivalent keyboard-friendly choice list. Every format uses the same score, passing threshold, retake, and resume flow as existing multiple-choice and pick-a-side questions; typed fill and cloze resume data stores only whether the submitted answer was correct, not the learner's text.

Uploaded PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files can become package-local learner downloads instead of network-only links. Slide videos can carry ordered captions and a localized transcript in both full-screen and content layouts. These accessibility and download assets travel with standalone and LMS packages.

Managed activity images, question images, and learner downloads can now be removed safely across every language version. Video replacement can explicitly preserve or clear earlier captions and transcripts, and visual questions and spatial placement controls now provide stronger accessible fallback and state information.

The new components use the shared responsive player in editor preview, public modules, standalone HTML5, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, and cmi5 packages. They are also available to the Skillsail EVE agent and connected MCP assistants through bounded authoring contracts. See Interactive content.

Ten new purpose-built learning interactions

Interactive activity slides now include dedicated process steppers, timelines, matching pairs, sequence builders, scenarios, flashcards, multiple-response practice, fill-in-the-blank practice, private guided reflections, and checklists. Each activity has a bounded authoring schema, keyboard-accessible controls, responsive learner rendering, and localized learner-facing copy.

The same activities are available to the Skillsail EVE agent and connected MCP assistants, and they use the shared player in preview, public modules, standalone HTML5, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, and cmi5 exports. Practice activity answers remain local and unscored; use a standard question when the result must affect the module's passing score. See Interactive content.

Review comments for shared modules

Public modules can now collect review comments directly on individual slides. Reviewers can join with a display name, leave threaded feedback, edit or delete their own comments, and follow resolved discussions without creating an account. Authors can reply, resolve or reopen threads, and keep the full comment history even when comments are turned off or a slide is deleted.

Turn comments on or off in the module's share settings. The Skillsail assistant and connected MCP assistants can also read feedback, reply in the module owner's name, resolve or reopen threads, and update visibility, template status, passphrase removal, and comment collection together in one confirmed sharing change. Microsoft Teams: chat with your assistant in Teams

The Skillsail assistant is now available in Microsoft Teams. Send it a personal message, or mention @Skillsail in a team channel and it replies in a thread on your message. Connect your account from Settings → Conversation channels with a one-click link that prefills the connect message in Teams — see Use Skillsail in Microsoft Teams to get started.

PowerPoint imports now build learner-ready modules

Skillsail can now inspect and import selected slides or ranges from an uploaded .pptx without loading the entire presentation at once. By default, the assistant turns the source ideas into concise, learner-focused course slides while preserving important facts, figures, quotations, and compliance language. You can ask for a close transcription when exact wording matters.

Work with a whole deck, a range, or specific slide numbers, including large presentations processed in safe batches
Use slide text and speaker notes, and reuse a suitable directly embedded image from each source slide
Retry an interrupted import without duplicating the same course slides or repeating the same visual-analysis charge

The import rebuilds the material as an e-learning course; it does not reproduce PowerPoint animations, charts, SmartArt, vector artwork, master slides, backgrounds, or the complete visual composition. See Turn a PowerPoint into a module for the workflow and current limits.

Slack: chat with your assistant where your team works

The Skillsail assistant is now available in Slack. Message it in a DM, or invite it to a channel and mention it when you need it — the standout feature is threads: mention @Skillsail mid-discussion and it reads the thread's earlier replies before answering, so your team can talk through a process and then say "turn this into a training module" without repeating anything. Add the app to your workspace and connect your account, both from Settings → Conversation channels — see Use Skillsail in Slack to get started.

Chat with your Skillsail assistant in Telegram

You can now connect your Telegram account to Skillsail and talk to your course assistant straight from your phone — create modules, edit slides, translate content, or send a photo or PDF to work into a course. Connect in Settings → Conversation channels with a one-tap link, and add the bot to team group chats where it responds when mentioned. See Use Skillsail in Telegram to get started. Slack and Microsoft Teams support is on the way.

xAPI, cmi5, and standalone HTML5 export

Modules can now be exported as xAPI ("Tin Can") and cmi5 packages, alongside the existing SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 formats. Choose the standard in the publish dialog or when starting a new module — the exported package tracks completion, scores, and resume position through your LMS or Learning Record Store.

xAPI packages send learner statements (attempted, passed, failed, completed) to your LRS and support bookmarking, so learners resume where they left off
cmi5 packages follow the modern successor to SCORM, including launch-mode handling and mastery-score criteria from your module's completion settings
Works with SCORM Cloud and any xAPI- or cmi5-conformant LMS

There is also a new standalone HTML5 export for teams without an LMS: a self-contained web package you can host on any web server. Learner progress — bookmark, quiz score, and completion — is stored in the learner's browser, so people still resume where they left off. See Export formats.

Billing controls on the usage page

Usage & Billing now brings plan status, shared monthly credits, plan options, billing settings, and recent usage into one place.

Free organizations can choose Plus or Pro from the page. Paid organizations can switch between Plus and Pro, see when the current plan renews or ends, and keep the current plan when a scheduled change can be canceled. See Usage and billing.

Expanded docs for course authors

The Skillsail docs now cover the parts of the product that come up most often when you are building a module. New sections:

Concepts — modules and components, languages and translation, themes and completion, resources and media, sharing and templates, and saved versions.
AI assistants (MCP) — connect an outside AI assistant to your Skillsail workspace, a plain-language list of everything the assistant can do, and recipes for common authoring jobs.

The pages are written for course authors and trainers — the people actually building modules.

Changelog pages are now easier to reuse, making it simpler to copy updates into support replies, internal notes, or AI workflows.
