This is the full list of Skillsail tasks an AI assistant can help with after you connect Skillsail through MCP. You do not need to memorize them — ask in plain language, and your assistant will choose the right Skillsail step. The list is here so you know what to expect and what is in scope. You can always ask the assistant in plain language. The examples below show the kind of natural requests you can use.

Checking the connection

Check Skillsail is connected

Confirms the assistant is signed in and knows which Skillsail organization it is acting in.
Ask things like: “Are you connected to Skillsail?” / “Which Skillsail organization are you using?”

Modules

List your modules

Returns a list of your modules. Supports searching by name.
Ask things like: “List my Skillsail modules.” / “Find the onboarding module.”

Create a module

Creates a new, empty module with a title and an optional default language.
Ask things like: “Create a new module called ‘First day safety basics’ in English.”

Open a module

Returns a module so the assistant can see its structure, components, and settings before making changes.
Ask things like: “Show me what’s in ‘Phishing 101’.”
Updates the module’s title or the short identifier used in shareable links.
Ask things like: “Rename this module to ‘Onboarding 2026’.”

Delete a module

Permanently deletes a module, including its slides, questions, media, and saved versions.
Ask things like: “Delete the ‘Old test course’ module.”
Deletion is permanent. The assistant should confirm with you before deleting.

Slides, questions, and activities

Add a slide

Adds a content slide. You can pick its position in the module.
Ask things like: “Add a slide on evacuation routes after slide 3.”

Add a quiz question

Adds a multiple-choice question with 2–10 options, marks the correct answer, and optionally adds feedback for right and wrong answers.
Ask things like: “Add a quiz question about extinguisher classes with four options.”

Add an interactive activity

Adds a free-form practice moment — a game, a scenario, a flash-card drill, a sorting exercise, and so on. See Interactive content.
Ask things like: “Add a phishing detection game with three example messages.”

Edit a slide, question, or activity

Updates an existing component. Translations into other configured languages are refreshed automatically.
Ask things like: “Rewrite slide 2 to be more concise.”

Delete a slide, question, or activity

Removes a single component from the module.
Ask things like: “Delete the placeholder slide I added earlier.”

Reorder components

Moves a single slide / question / activity, or reorders the whole module in one go.
Ask things like: “Move the summary slide to the end.”

Inspect a single component

Returns one component so the assistant can quote its text or check a specific language version.
Ask things like: “What does slide 4 say in German?”

List components

Returns all components in display order. Useful before bulk changes.
Ask things like: “List the slides and questions in this module.”

Languages, theme, and completion

Set languages

Replaces the list of supported languages on a module. New languages are translated automatically.
Ask things like: “Add German and Spanish to this module.”

Update the theme

Changes the colors and/or the body font.
Ask things like: “Change the primary color to dark blue.”

Set completion rules

Switches between view-based and score-based completion, and sets the passing score for score-based modules.
Ask things like: “Set this module to score-based completion at 80%.”

Sharing and templates

Publish

Publishes the module either as a regular public link (preserving any passphrase) or as a public, passphrase-free template.
Ask things like: “Publish this module as a template.” / “Make this module public.”

Set visibility

Toggle a module between public and private without changing other share settings.
Ask things like: “Make this module private again.”

Set, change, or remove the passphrase

Adds a passphrase to a public module, or rotates or removes an existing one.
Ask things like: “Add the passphrase ‘team-2026’.” / “Remove the passphrase from this module.”

Mark as template (or unmark)

Toggles template mode. Marking as a template makes the module public and clears any passphrase.
Ask things like: “Mark this module as a template.”

Copy a template

Copies a public template into your workspace as a new private module.
Ask things like: “Copy this template into my workspace.”

Versions

List saved versions

Returns the saved snapshots of a module, newest first.
Ask things like: “Show me the saved versions of this module.”

Restore a saved version

Replaces the current module with a previously saved snapshot.
Ask things like: “Restore the version from this morning.”
Restoring overwrites the current module. The assistant should show you the available versions before restoring.

Resources (uploaded files)

Prepare an upload

Starts an upload for a file you want to add to your workspace (a PDF, a DOCX, an image, a video, and so on).
Ask things like: “I want to upload the new safety handbook PDF.”

Upload a file directly

Uploads a small file in one step.
Ask things like: “Attach this short PNG to my workspace.”

Process an uploaded document

For Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), this extracts the text so Skillsail can use it as source material.
Ask things like: “Use the handbook I just uploaded to draft a module.”
Returns a temporary link to download a file you previously uploaded.
Ask things like: “Send me a download link for the safety handbook I uploaded.”

Delete a resource

Removes an uploaded file from your workspace.
Ask things like: “Delete the old safety handbook upload.”

Media on slides

Attaches an uploaded image as the module’s logo, or removes the current logo.
Ask things like: “Use the logo I just uploaded as this module’s logo.” / “Remove the module logo.”

Attach a video to a slide

Attaches an uploaded video file to a specific slide.
Ask things like: “Attach my intro video to slide 1.”

Generate a slide image

Creates an image from a description and attaches it to a slide.
Ask things like: “Add an image of an evacuation route to slide 2.”

Edit a slide image

Changes an existing slide image based on a description — for example tighten the contrast, change the framing, or replace an element.
Ask things like: “Make the image on slide 2 more high-contrast.”

Generate a slide video

Creates a short video clip from a description and attaches it to a slide.
Ask things like: “Add a 10-second clip of a ladder being placed safely to slide 3.”

Generate a slide voiceover

Creates a narration audio track for a slide. By default the narration uses the slide’s text; you can provide a custom script.
Ask things like: “Record narration for slide 4.” / “Use this script as the narration for slide 4: …”

Building from a prompt

Build a module from a prompt

Skillsail’s own AI plans and produces a draft module from a free-form prompt. You can also point it at uploaded files so the draft uses them as source material.
Ask things like: “Build me a module about customer service basics with a 4-question quiz.”
Use this for the initial draft. For precise follow-up edits, ask for the specific change you want.

Look at a chat

Opens a Skillsail authoring chat so the assistant can see the conversation that produced a module.
Ask things like: “Open the chat for the onboarding module.”

Exporting

Export a module

Produces a SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, or cmi5 package for your LMS, or a standalone HTML5 package for any web server.
Ask things like: “Export this module as a SCORM 2004 package.” or “Export this module as a cmi5 package.”
The assistant will return the package so you (or it) can download it.
