Templates
Share a training as a reusable template that other people can preview and copy.

Templates let you turn a finished training into a reusable starting point. People can preview the training, sign in, and create their own private copy.
When to use templates
- Roll out a proven onboarding flow across teams
- Give subject matter experts a starting point instead of a blank page
- Share a training format while still letting each team adapt the content
Share a training as a template
- Open the training you want to reuse.
- Click Publish.
- Turn on Share as template.
- Copy the public link and send it to the people who should use it.
When you enable template sharing, Skillsail makes the training public automatically and removes password protection. Templates are always public and passwordless.
What recipients see
- They can preview the training before copying it.
- They need a Skillsail account to create their own copy.
- After sign-in, Skillsail creates a new training from the template and opens it in their workspace.
What gets copied
- Module structure and slide flow
- Component content and translations
- Media assets that belong to the training
What does not get copied
- Chat history
- Version history
- The original share settings
Each new copy starts as a private training in the recipient's own workspace. Changes to the original template do not update copies that were already created.
Recommended workflow
- Finalize the training you want to standardize.
- Share the template link.
- Ask recipients to duplicate the template before they start editing.
Troubleshooting
People can preview but cannot copy
They still need to sign in before Skillsail can create a private copy in their workspace.
