Usage and Billing

This policy explains Skillsail's shared AI credit balance and is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions. The plan or order and policy version agreed with your organization determine its commercial terms. Current public prices do not, by themselves, change an existing agreement.

Plans and allowances

• Starter credits: 1,500 AI credits once per organization, with no credit card required. The starter allowance does not expire or automatically refill. Generation pauses when the allowance is exhausted. It does not automatically become a paid subscription or incur paid additional usage.
• Pro: $59 per month per organization, including 1,500 AI credits each month. After a successful subscription payment, any unused starter credits are replaced with a fresh monthly allowance of 1,500 AI credits. Unused monthly credits expire at renewal and do not roll over.

Everyone in an organization shares the same AI credit balance. Additional promotional allowances follow the expiry terms shown when granted. Credits are consumption units for Skillsail, not a USD balance or redeemable money. Credits cannot be withdrawn or transferred. Starting checkout does not change the starter balance; the paid allowance is granted only after successful payment.

AI credit rates

Usage depends on the selected model, settings, and actual tokens, generated images, video seconds, narration characters, translated characters, search results, or other chargeable units. Different models and settings can have different costs. Our billing service calculates model credit deductions using its model catalog and configured pricing when usage is metered; other usage uses configured rates.

The public Pricing page shows indicative AI credit rates and when model prices were last checked. These rates help compare usage costs; they are not fixed quotes or a guarantee of the rate applied to a particular request. Actual charges can differ because models, settings, catalog updates, and chargeable units differ. Indicative information does not replace the pricing basis agreed with your organization.

Catalog-based model rates may increase or decrease automatically as the billing catalog changes. Changes apply prospectively, subject to the agreed Plan Terms and applicable law. A later catalog update does not itself reprice usage already metered.

When usage is charged

Successful model calls and media generations consume AI credits when completed, including results that you choose not to add to a course. A failed provider request does not consume allowance. Work completed before a later operation fails remains billable. Additional languages count as additional narration or translation usage.

Additional usage and limits

Extra credits cost $0.04 USD each and are off by default for new Pro subscriptions. An organization administrator can enable them in Billing with a USD spending limit or no limit. Existing subscriptions keep their current settings. When enabled, consumption beyond all available credits is billed in USD at the end of the billing period. No prepaid credit packs are offered. An organization administrator can change the limit or stop additional usage in Billing. Controls use recorded usage and do not cancel or reverse work already authorized or completed. Running work may finish, and usage updates may arrive later. Billable charges follow the agreed pricing and applicable billing controls. The additional-usage limit excludes subscription fees, taxes, and charges already incurred. Free organizations cannot incur paid additional usage.

Invoices and subscription management

Checkout and subscription management use Stripe Managed Payments. Use the billing portal to update payment details, view invoices or cancel. Cancellation takes effect as shown in the portal. Taxes, invoice adjustments and finalization can change the amount due; the finalized invoice is the billing record.

Actions with no separate usage charge

Uploads, storage, manual editing and exports do not have a separate usage charge. Learner and tutor experiences are not separately billed in this pricing model. Technical and fair-use limits still apply.

Included storage

Free includes 5 GB and Pro includes 100 GB of storage per organization for retained uploads and generated media. Reaching the storage limit may restrict further uploads or generation.

Skillsail branding

Free courses include a "Made with Skillsail" badge. Pro removes Skillsail branding. Hosted courses follow the organization's current entitlement. Downloaded packages keep the branding decision made when exported; export again after upgrading to remove the badge. A package exported without the badge stays that way after cancellation. Client logos, fonts and themes are separate from the Skillsail badge and remain available on Free.

Pricing changes

Variable usage prices are described above. Material changes to the agreed basis for charges, subscription prices, allowances, other agreed usage rates, or plan limits follow the notice, effective-date, and acceptance rules in our Terms. Publishing an indicative rate does not itself amend an existing agreement. New charges do not apply retrospectively to usage before their agreed effective date.
