Credits and Usage

This Credits and Usage page explains how Skillsail measures AI usage for paid plans and any add-on credits that may be offered. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms and Conditions.

We keep this page separate from the Terms so that current allowances, credit prices, and usage mechanics can be updated transparently in our checkout, billing, and plan displays as the product, AI models, and provider costs change.

1. What credits are

• Credits are internal usage units used to measure access to AI generation and translation features in Skillsail.
• Credits are owned by the Organization Account, shared by its Authorized Users, and consumed when users perform credit-consuming actions.
• Credits are not currency, legal tender, a stored value account, or a payment instrument. They have no cash value and are not redeemable, refundable, transferable, or exchangeable except where required by law.

2. Monthly included credits

• Free starter allowance: 2,000 credits for new Organizations using the free plan or trial experience.
• Plus: 1,500 credits per monthly billing period.
• Pro: 7,500 credits per monthly billing period.
• Enterprise: Custom usage allowance and commercial terms agreed with Skillsail.

Monthly included credits refresh once per billing period. Unused monthly included credits expire at the end of the applicable billing period and do not roll over unless we expressly state otherwise for a specific plan or offer.

3. What consumes credits

• Text generation: weighted by token type: 1 credit per 1,000 input tokens, 4 credits per 1,000 output tokens, 1 credit per 1,000 cache-write tokens, and 0.25 credits per 1,000 cache-read tokens, rounded up once per model step.
• Web search: 8 credits per provider web-search call, charged separately from text generation tokens when web search is used.
• Image generation: 120 credits per generated image.
• Image editing: 100 credits per edited image.
• Video generation: 300 credits per generated second.
• Voiceover generation: Metered by generated character count and language count at 125 credits per 1,000 characters per language.
• Translation: 8 credits per 1,000 translated characters.

Text generation usage is based on total tokens reported by the model provider. Token totals can include system instructions, tool context, retrieved content, and model output in addition to the text entered by a user. Some actions are estimated before work begins and then settled using actual usage where available.

4. Examples

Any examples shown in checkout, plan materials, or in-product billing displays are illustrative estimates. Actual consumption depends on the request type, prompt and output length, web search call count, generated media duration, language count, and the current usage pricing.

5. Actions currently monitored but not charged

We currently monitor uploads, storage, export jobs, download URLs, and file parsing for operational visibility, but they do not separately consume credits. These actions may still be subject to fair use, technical limits, abuse prevention, or plan-specific restrictions.

6. When credits run out

If an Organization Account does not have enough available credits for a credit-consuming action, Skillsail may block or pause that action until credits refresh, additional credits are added where available, or the Organization Account changes to a plan with a larger usage allowance.

7. Changes to credits and usage

We may update this Credits and Usage page from time to time, including to reflect new AI models, provider pricing, product features, plan packaging, or abuse-prevention requirements. If a change materially reduces paid plan allowances during an active billing period, we will provide notice where required by law or where commercially reasonable.
