# Deleting an organization

> How organization admins can delete a Skillsail organization and what happens to the data.

Organization admins can delete a Skillsail organization from **Settings**. This is permanent for the selected organization, so export any modules, packages, invoices, or records you need before continuing.

## Who can delete an organization

Only an organization admin can delete the organization they are currently using. Skillsail confirms that you have permission before deletion starts.

## How to delete an organization

1. Sign in to Skillsail.
2. Open **Settings** from the account menu.
3. Select **Delete Account**.
4. Review the deletion warning and select **I understand**.
5. Select **Delete Account** to permanently delete the organization.

When deletion completes, Skillsail signs you out and redirects you to the landing page.

## What is deleted

Deleting an organization removes organization data from active Skillsail systems, including:

* The organization workspace and settings.
* Training modules, generated content, chat history, versions, sharing settings, and templates owned by the organization.
* Uploaded files and generated media associated with the organization.
* Usage records, credit activity, and other product records tied to the organization.
* User records and access for users in that organization.

If a user also belongs to another Skillsail organization, Skillsail keeps the user identity needed for that other organization and removes only the deleted organization's data and membership.

## Billing and subscriptions

Skillsail cancels active, trialing, paused, past due, unpaid, and incomplete subscriptions for the deleted organization immediately. We do not automatically refund charges and do not delete customer, invoice, charge, refund, dispute, or payment history records retained by our billing or payment providers.

Billing and payment records may be retained where needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or other legal obligations.

## What admins should do first

Before deleting an organization:

* Export any training packages or content you need to keep.
* Download invoices or billing records you need for accounting.
* Inform affected users that their access and organization data will be removed.
* Confirm that no other admin needs the organization, content, or records.
